What Is CBD

CBD is a cannabinoid that interacts with our body’s built-in endocannabinoid system, or ECS, to maintain balance and wellbeing.

CBD comes in a range of different preparations including oils, water-soluble preparations, skin creams and edibles. How much you take will depend on variables including your age, weight, diet, metabolism, CBD tolerance, and any conditions or diseases you might have. It’s best to start with a low dose and work your way up to the level that works for you. All our products come with a usage guide that explains the best way to do this.

How Does CBD Benefit Us?

Increasingly, a healthy ECS is becoming recognised by scientists as vital in keeping our bodies in an optimal state. Although we all make our own CBD to some extent, many of us are deficient. Plant cannabinoids, or phytocannabinoids, from hemp or cannabis plants work just as well so taking them tops us up.

The ECS helps our bodies fight off infection. It also plays a part in the production of healthy cells. We know that stimulating the ECS can have a positive impact in reducing the symptoms of many conditions.

Is CBD Oil Legal?

Yes, CBD oil is legal in Scotland and the rest of the UK. It’s the cannabinoid THC that has been prohibited under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. It’s THC one that makes you high.

The new regulations that came into effect on November 1, 2018, allow for certain preparations with a high THC content to be made available to people with specific conditions under licence from some specialists.

This is not what we sell. We make no medical claims for our products which all fall within legal guidelines for CBD as a food supplement. Our products do not exceed the legal limit of 0.2 per cent THC.
